Response:
Plans for construction of the Primary Monastery in Taiwan had already begun as early as 2006 with efforts in purchasing land. However, the construction for the monastery in Canada only officially commenced in 2009. Previously, monastics lived temporarily in other places. Due to Taiwan’s high population density, obtaining land as well as applying for the relevant legal permits and inspection procedures was much more complicated as compared to Canada, with its vast land and low population density. This is why the construction of the Primary Monastery in Taiwan is not as fast as the construction of the monastery in Canada.
